An Awareness Programme was held in our college on 26.06.2023, International Day against Drug Abuse and Trafficking in association with Kempegowda Nagar police station. The Police Inspector Shree Rakshith addressed the students and explained the reason behind conducting the programme for students. Sir pointed out that the drug abuse and trafficking can’t be controlled only by the laws and legal actions. The police, the teachers and the students should join hands to create awareness in the society to control the drug abuse.

Smt. Arpitha, PSI, made the students realize the need to save ourselves from drugs in her fluent English. She opined that the police are there to protect the society and the students should protect the society in future. Madam shared her knowledge about the varieties of drugs, signs of drug abuse, reasons for consuming drugs, and the roles of parents, teachers and students to control the harmful effects of drug. She also drew the attention of the students towards the laws against drug abuse.

A short film was shown to the gathering at the end of the programme in which they have vividly presented how a person falls prey to the drug abuse and finds it difficult to come out of the whirlpool of drugs.

The principal Dr. S. Prashanth expressed the vote of thanks. The staff and all the students were present who pledged against the use of drugs. The programme was very productive and useful.
